Pokemon - Gym Leader Clint

Description

And two of his gym trainers. I was randomly in a Pokémon mood and wanted to design another gym leader for the Enf Region. Even though I've kind of passed it on to other writers who can do with the region as they please, Clint and his section of the map can be used or discarded if they want. Anyway, I wanted to make a gym leader that wasn't another easily-strippable female like all those I've thought of so far, and the Enf Region needed some dude gym leaders to balance things out. So I wanted to make an alpha male kind of guy, something I don't usually write, a big hoss who rules over the region's Safari Zone on Robin's Egg Island. The Robin's Egg Island Gym is a Lodge on the edge of the island's fishing town and the wilderness of the Safari Zone further inland. If Clint isn't at his lodge waiting for trainers to challenge him, then he's in random locations around the Safari Zone, tending to the local fauna and helping the rangers.

Clint is a veteran trainer-turned gym leader who operates as a "trainer hunter" of sorts. The first time you challenge him for a Huntsman Badge, you have to gamble your Pokédex, which he'll mount on his wall as a trophy if you fail to beat him. You can challenge him more than once, of course, but for many young trainers, he's a stone wall keeping them from advancing to the championship at the end of the season. His 5 Pokémon are all home-grown from the nearby Safari Zone and are:
Growlithe, his youngest Pokémon and hunting hound, an adorable little newb who wants to grow up to be a tough-as-nails Arcanine someday.
Unfezant, a veteran from when Clint won the Enf League championship years ago, and a "mother hen" who gets loaned out to Clint's gym trainers to train their own Pokémon.
Sawsbuck, the first Pokémon Clint caught on the island as a Deerling, ever-loyal and kind of a ditzy stud who roams around the Safari Zone getting lost no matter how many years he's lived there.
Talonflame, the rebel of the party and the only Pokémon Clint caught fully-evolved, once the apex predator of the island leading a flock of fletchlings and fletchinders. He's very business-like with regards to his master and keeps a lookout constantly for Team Luna Grunts or Poachers trying to invade the island.
Ursaring, the powerhouse of the party and usually the final Pokémon trainers have to go through to get that Huntsman Badge. Lazy bum when not in battle, though.

Clint gives out TM67 Retaliate alongside the Huntsman Badge. I tried to balance out his team to ensure no one type would have a total advantage, but it might not be fool proof. Fighting-types will make short work of his Normal-types, but his Flying types give him a counter to that. His Fire-types will make short work of any Steel-types you bring along, and Sawsbuck has enough Grass-type attacks on hand to counter any Water, Rock, or Ground-types you bring. So he's got a decent crew at least. His Gym trainers have a wide variety of Pokémon, but almost all are native to Robin's Egg Island's Safari Zone, so probably a lot of Normal and Bug-type Pokémon.

As for ENF scenarios, since he wouldn't be on the receiving end of those, he has a mostly-female gaggle of Gym Trainers to strip and humiliate in your stories, mostly to his amusement. Female trainers challenging him for a badge should beware of stray Fire-attacks from his Growlithe and Talonflame, which will roast their clothing off and leave them toasty and blushing. Clint himself has enough charisma and presence that he may be able to win your characters over with some charm, and there's plenty of room for more trainers and rangers in his lodge.

Interesting. I'm sure I can find a place for him in the story. Maybe I'll place in a handful of alterations if I feel that they are necessary, but the original idea should remain largely intact. I've actually thought of who I want the names, Pokemon teams, and (partially) the personality of the first two gym leaders by now. Unfortunately, I suck at thinking of original designs for characters, so that part might take a while. I'm more of a character writer than a character artist if that makes any sense.

Also, I apologize for not making or posting any recent progress on the Pokemon fanfiction I'm making. I've been slightly busy with things like senior year high school and developing other ideas for stories and content and especially helping out a friend of mine with his stories. More importantly however, I've been suffering from a lot of motivational issues. For some reason as of late, I've been finding it extremely hard to get myself to sit down and get writing on my ideas. Maybe it's school draining me of desire to work and making me want to play video games more to recharge my batteries, maybe it's just as simple as a writing slump, maybe it's a part of "Senioritis" as they call it, I don't know. But once again, I apologize if I upload too infrequently.
